9. the net used to direct fish into a weir, pound, etc.
10. Film a blank strip at the beginning of a reel of film, used to ease threading, and for identification purposes.
11. Horticulture the long slender extension shoots of trees, especially of fruit trees, which are cut back in pruning.
12. Law a Queen's Counsel in charge of a case.
13. Mining a small ore-vein which leads or points to a richer lode.
